The world of Argentine tango landed in Dubai 19 years ago and has been flourishing ever since. It has become a custom to culminate all efforts and celebrate the passion of this dance in a once-a-year festival. Held under the auspices of the Embassy of Argentina in the UAE, this year’s festival will be a full-blown celebration of 12 years of success.
H.E. Agustín Molina Arambarri the Ambassador of Argentina in the UAE was quoted as saying, “We are delighted to support the Dubai Tango Festival for the 12th consecutive year. It’s been great to bring a piece of our rich culture and heritage to this melting pot of cultures that is the United Arab Emirates. This year we celebrate twelve years of Dubai Tango Festival and its remarkable array of cross-cultural events and activities that so beautifully reflects the growing bilateral relations between our friendly Nations.”
According to the festival organizers, the previous 11 editions have been the propellers putting Dubai on the Tango world map, and this year they are bringing all the glamour to celebrate the 12th anniversary!
“It’s incredible to see our grassroots-level and nonprofit initiative grow annually and make its way to the local and international events calendar. Being the 12th anniversary; we are really excited to bring all the past years’ glamour and combine it with special unprecedented features that will appeal to all,” festival organizer Maya Saliba.
Taking place at the Lapita, Dubai Parks & Resort Autograph Collection Hotels from 23-26 May, the 4 tango-filled days will feature immersive workshops with the maestros (teachers), breathtaking performances by the star guests and of course, the milongas (social dancing evenings) that will be brought to life with the music of international DJs. “This is the second year that Lapita, Dubai Parks & Resort Autograph Collection Hotels will be hosting the renowned Dubai Tango Festival, so we wanted to continue to bring something different to the table.
