Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 30 September, 2022: Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in the UAE, is celebrating International Coffee Day this October 1 by giving away organic coffee for free. The first 200 customers to Carrefour BIO in City Centre Me’aisem will be rewarded with a no-strings-attached beverage to enjoy in the retailer’s first café.
During their visit, customers can take advantage of a range of delicious blends and heirloom varieties from Ethiopia with floral, fruity, woody or sweet notes to choose from – all of which have been graded as excellent by the Specialty Coffee Association. Offering organic, vegan, and free-from categories to cater to all tastes, customers can opt for one of five healthy, plant-based milks.
Launched earlier this year, Carrefour BIO opened to promote conscious lifestyles in the UAE through a range of healthy and organic products spanning from food and beverages to beauty, personal, and home care items. The brand’s first sit-down dining concept offers all-day breakfast, delicious salads, fresh juices, and organic teas and coffees, as well as fan favourites from manakeesh to burgers with a plant-based twist.
The store aims at elevating retail sustainably with biodegradable packaging, eco-friendly, low-energy appliances and recycled wooden shelving, whilst supporting local small and medium enterprises. It also contains an innovative hydroponic farm to offset Carrefour’s carbon footprint and bolster food security, promoting locally grown produce and farm-to-table lifestyles.
